Hearing Health Narangba
Noticing changes in your hearing can be frustrating or easy to put off. You might be finding conversations harder to follow, turning the TV up more often, noticing ringing in your ears, or simply feeling that something isn’t quite right.
At Narangba Station Health Centre, we provide audiology services in partnership with Audiwell, an independent hearing provider. Together, we assess your hearing, explain your results clearly and talk you through the options that are right for you.
Because Audiwell is independent, recommendations are based on your clinical needs, not a particular brand, device or sales pathway. Whether you need monitoring, tinnitus support, hearing technology, further investigation or no treatment at all, you’ll receive clear, practical advice.
If you have minor hearing concerns, please call our friendly reception team on (07) 3521 5523 to book a consultation and comprehensive hearing test.
Free 15 Minute Hearing Screen
Our free hearing screening (for adults only) is a quick, non-invasive way to check whether your hearing is within the expected range. If any concerns are identified, our audiologist may recommend a comprehensive hearing assessment.
Call us on 07 3521 5523 to make a booking.
Audiology Services
Caring for your hearing should feel straightforward, supportive, and tailored to you. At Narangba Station Health Centre, our audiology services are designed to do exactly that. We give you clear answers, practical support, and the right solutions for your individual needs. Unlike some providers that are affiliated with certain brands, we are impartial and will always recommend the most appropriate solution.
Our audiology services include:
From free initial hearing screens to advanced hearing tests, we provide advanced diagnostic testing such as speech audiometry and tympanometry to gain deeper insights into your hearing.
Earwax build-up can lead to blocked ears, uncomfortabilty and even infection when attempting to treat with at-home solutions. Our microsuction services will clear this safely and effectively.
Hearing aids and assistive listening devices to support daily communication. We offer hearing aid fittings, evaluations and fine-tuning tailored to your degree of hearing loss and lifestyle.
For some patients where hearing aids do not offer enough benefit, alternative solutions are required. We can evaluate your candidacy for a cochlear implant and guide you through the process.
We create custom-fit earplugs for swimmers, musicians, and those regularly exposed to loud environments, helping protect your hearing without compromising comfort.
Bone conduction devices are a great alternative to traditional hearing aids for some forms of hearing loss. These devices transmit sound through your skull to your inner ear.
If constant ringing or buzzing in your ears is affecting your day-to-day life, we can help with tailored management strategies to reduce its impact and protect against the future.
Dizziness Tests
Hearing healt isn’t just about hearing. Our ears also help us maintain balance. If you have been feeling dizzy or experiencing vertigo, book a vestibular test today.
Signs that you may need a hearing assessment
Gradual hearing loss is one of the reasons why hearing changes can be easily missed. You may wish to schedule a hearing appointment in Narangba if you’ve found yourself having trouble with:
01
You are struggling to follow conversations.
You may find it harder to keep up with conversations at work, in social settings or when several people are speaking at once.
02
You frequently request people to repeat themselves.
Frequently saying “sorry?” or asking others to speak more clearly can be an early sign that your hearing has changed.
03
The TV seems quieter than before.
If you’re regularly turning up the television, radio or phone volume, particularly when others think it’s loud enough, it may be worth having your hearing checked.
04
Sounds seem muffled.
Speech may sound less distinct, or you might feel as though people are mumbling even when you can hear that they are speaking.
05
You notice ringing or you have experienced dizziness.
The inner ear plays an important role in balance as well as hearing. Recurring dizziness, rigning or balance difficulties, particularly alongside hearing changes, should be assessed.
06
Backgound noise makes conversations difficult.
Restaurants, cafés and busy gatherings may become harder to follow, even though one-to-one conversations in quieter environments still seem relatively easy.
07
Your ears feel under pressure.
Persistent fullness, pressure or a blocked sensation in one or both ears can sometimes accompany hearing or ear-related concerns.

- Hearing Test (Children Aged 3+): $180.00

What to expect?
Your audiology appointment will begin with a discussion about your hearing, any symptoms you’ve noticed, your medical and hearing history, and situations where you may be finding it more difficult to hear.
Your audiologist may then examine your ears and complete the appropriate hearing tests. Depending on your needs, this may include assessing how well you hear different tones and speech, as well as checking how effectively your middle ear is functioning.
Once testing is complete, your audiologist will explain the results in clear terms and discuss any recommended next steps. This may include monitoring your hearing, treatment or referral where appropriate, or discussing hearing devices and other hearing support options.
Hearing care that starts with you
As an independent hearing provider, Audiwell puts clinical needs ahead of sales pathways. Your audiologist takes the time to understand your hearing, lifestyle and concerns before recommending what is genuinely appropriate for yo. Whether that means hearing technology, tinnitus support, further investigation or no device at all. Because our audiology services are GP-connected, we can work across different hearing aid brands and approaches, coordinate with your doctor or ENT, and provide clear clinical reporting where required.

Untreated Hearing Loss
Untreated hearing loss can make everyday communication more difficult and may contribute to frustration, social withdrawal and reduced confidence. Hearing loss has also been associated with cognitive decline, particularly when it remains unmanaged over time.
If you’re noticing muffled hearing, difficulty understanding speech, tinnitus or other changes, it’s worth having your hearing assessed. Early identification can help clarify the cause and determine the most appropriate treatment or support.
Where hearing aids or assistive listening devices are recommended, we can help with selection, fitting and ongoing adjustments to make sure they continue to suit your hearing needs and lifestyle.
Audiology FAQs
Do I need a referral?
In most cases, you can book directly with our audiologist without a referral. A GP referral may be required in some circumstances, including where Medicare rebates or further medical investigation are involved.
What's the difference between a hearing screen and hearing test?
A hearing screening is a quick check designed to identify whether further testing may be needed. A comprehensive hearing assessment looks at your hearing in much greater detail and allows your audiologist to explain the results and recommend appropriate next steps.
Are hearing aids the only option?
No, not necessarily. Recommendations are based on your hearing results, symptoms, lifestyle and clinical needs. As an independent provider, we can recommend different brands and approaches or even no hearing device at all where one isn’t appropriate.
Can you help with tinnitus?
Yes. Our audiologist can assess tinnitus alongside your hearing and discuss management strategies based on your individual symptoms. Where appropriate, we can also work with your GP or refer you for further medical assessment.
Can tinnitus be treated?
While there is no known cure for tinnitus, there are management techniques that can help minimise its effects.
Are you affiliated with hearing brands?
No, we are not affiliated with hearing brands. Both Narangba Station Medical Centre and Audiwell are independent hearing provider, which means recommendations are not limited to a particular manufacturer or hearing aid network. This allows us to consider different technologies and brands based on what best suits you.
