No referral is required and if you have a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan, you may be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate. Get support by calling reception on (07) 3521 5523 or booking your first session online.
Therapy Approaches
Jonathan draws on several therapeutic approaches, selecting techniques according to your concerns, preferences and goals. As a collaborative and individually tailored experience, each session may draw upon various therapeutic techniques to help guide and support you through your challenges.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing
EMDR is a structured therapy that can help people process distressing memories and reduce the intensity of trauma-related thoughts, emotions and reactions.
Internal Family Systems
IFS explores the different parts of your inner experience and the roles they may play. It aims to build greater self-awareness, understanding and self-compassion to help you navigate through challenges.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
ACT helps you develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions while identifying your values and taking meaningful steps towards what matters to you.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
CBT explores the connections between thoughts, emotions and behaviours. It provides practical strategies for recognising and changing patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing.

People seek psychological support for many different reasons. You do not need to wait until things feel unmanageable—therapy can also provide space to understand yourself, navigate change and work towards meaningful personal or professional goals.

What to expect?
Your first appointment provides an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy, your background and what you would like to achieve. Jonathan will work with you to understand your needs before explaining and recommending an appropriate approach.
Then, your follow-up sessions may focus on developing practical strategies, exploring recurring patterns, processing emotions or working towards your goals.
Some people benefit from short-term support, while others choose longer-term therapy. Of which, Jonathan will again work with you to determine the recommended frequency of appointments with you based on your individual needs.
Care that starts with you

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about iron infusion therapy and treatment options? We know medical procedures can feel a bit daunting which is why we keep the process straightforward, calm, and well-explained. Here’s some of the most commonly asked questions we receive
Do I need a referral?
No, you can book a private psychology appointment directly without a referral. We also accept referrals from other local GPs.
What is a mental health treatment plan?
A Mental Health Treatment Plan is prepared by a GP to document your mental health needs and treatment goals. When accompanied by an eligible referral, this may allow you to claim Medicare rebates for psychology appointments.
What happens during the first appointment?
During your first session, your psychologist will ask about what has brought you to therapy, your background, current concerns and what you would like to achieve. Your first session is also an opportunity to ask questions and decide whether the therapeutic approach feels right for you.
Our approach to psychology therapy is rooted in understanding each person and the challenges they are facing first, before jumping to any conclusions of diagnosis or treatment plans.
How long are psychology appointments?
Standard appointments generally run for approximately 50 minutes. The number and frequency of sessions will depend on your concerns, circumstances and goals.
Are sessions confidential?
Yes. What you discuss is generally confidential with your therapist. Should you have any questions, during your first appointment, we can explain the limited circumstances where information may need to be disclosed, such as a serious risk of harm or where disclosure is legally required.
Can you help with sports performance?
Yes, we regularly work with clients seeking support with sports-related concerns such as performance anxiety, confidence, motivation and managing setbacks. We also provide psychological support for people adjusting to injury, including WorkCover-related concerns.
