What is a Pre-Employment Medical Assessment?
Pre-employment medical assessments help minimise the risk of workplace injuries by screening individuals for factors that may impede their ability to work safely, as well as determine a new employee’s capability of performing certain tasks. This small investment not only benefits the employee but also safeguards the business by ensuring individuals are fit for the tasks they undertake. Please note these services are privately billed and do not attract a Medicare rebate.
During these assessments, our doctors will collect vital patient data such as height, weight, blood pressure, and assess medical history to identify any health risks or concerns affecting job performance.
Our pre-employment medical examinations will generally include the following tests or assessments:
- Cardiovascular, central nervous system, respiratory, and musculoskeletal examinations
- Body mass index (BMI)
- Urine analysis to diagnose any diabetic, kidney or bladder disorders
- Vision assessment including colour blindness
